Great wine starts with a great story. This story begins in 1960 when four cuttings of this unique grape were brought to the San Joaquin Valley from Croatia. This wine remained in relative obscurity for decades until it was discovered by our head vintner. UC Davis proved that this grape is genetically unknown. We are the first winery in California to grow this one-of-a-kind grape and make its wine available to the public. It was recognized as a premier wine at the esteemed Orange County Wine Competition, winning Double Gold. Our grapes are grown in the best soil and climate in the Central Valley along the banks of the San Joaquin River. Our bold flavored wine has elegant hints of blackberries, blueberries, spice and more.
